Over the past 10 years, Jim Stewart has earned a reputation for creating headshots that work.  His primary goal is to help actors get shots that instantly catch attention.   Jim approaches headshots much like filming a close-up.   Subtlety and simplicity are the hallmarks of his headshot style.   Nothing should detract from you.  It is about you - your essence.    It's a lot about the eyes.  He shoots in a very relaxed atmosphere (both inside and out) using natural light almost exclusively.  He doesn't count exposures or minutes.  He does not do "assembly line" headshots and never works with more than one person a day.  Jim believes creating your headshot should be a creative process - a collaboration

FAQ:

How many pictures do you take and how long is the shoot?
This depends.  For a standard shoot, we'll probably cover 1-3 "looks" (or wardrobe changes).  I generally take between 60-80+ shots per look.  The shoot will probably take 1 -3 hours, maybe more, maybe less.  I don't ever like to rush, but when we've got it, we've got it.

Do you offer direction while shooting?
Yes.  Quite a bit actually.  More than anything though, I want you to feel free and just be yourself and play along.

Do you shoot in studio or outdoors?
Both.  Lately, I've been shooting more on location as that's what seems to be in style right now and I also like the stimulation of being in a real environment while we make your pictures.  Some shots though are better suited to a studio look and that's often how we'll begin the shoot to warm up before going out.

Makeup/Hair?
Basic light makeup is included for men at no charge.  For women, I work with a great Hair/Make-up Artist.  Her rate is $50/Look.  Her services are optional, but recommended.
